Please note that all installation instructions on this page are for Windows, however Optifine and resource pack instructions are quite similar on all platforms. Just a few folder locations are different. We don't currently have the ability to provide detailed instructions for Mac or Linux, but here are some relevant links:

HOW TO INSTALL MULTIMC

MultiMC with Lithium, Sodium, and other optimization mods is what we now recommend over Optifine. This combination is several times faster and makes Minecraft a lot more playable on lower-end machines. MultiMC is essentially the mod loader for these optimizations, but this download includes the optimizations as well.

1. Download the MultiMC package for the server you would like to play on below:

If you already have the MultiMC launcher and just want an optimized instance for a server, download one of the instances below and then extract the zip file into your MultiMC > Instances folder, or just add the zip file via the "Add Instance" button in the top left of MultiMC.

To download the package, click on the blue download button in the center of your screen.

2. Google drive will alert you that the file is too large for Google to scan for viruses. Don't worry, this file is completely safe. Press the download anyway button, and a zip file will download.

3. Open your computer's downloads folder by searching "downloads" in your computer search bar.

4. Locate the MultiMC ZIP file you just installed. Right-click it and press "Cut". The file icon should darken slightly.

5. Locate where you would like to store your MultiMC launcher, right click, and then press "Paste". We recommend doing this on your computer's desktop.

6. Right-click the file on your desktop and press the "Extract Here" option. This may take a while. Note that if you don't have an unzipping utility like WinRAR, this may look a little bit different. If you don't see a similar option here, you can also right-click, then press "Open with", then press "Windows Explorer", and then drag the folder you see inside on to your desktop.

7. Right-click the original zip on your desktop again and press the "Delete". You won't need it anymore.

8. Double-click on the new MultiMC folder and locate the "MultiMC.exe" file.

9. Right-click drag the file on to your desktop and select the "Create shortcuts here" option. You can rename the shortcut to whatever you want after it is created by right-clicking on in then selecting "Rename".

10. Double click on your new shortcut to launch MultiMC. Once it's open, go to the top-right corner of the application and press the grayed out Steve face next to the word "Profiles".

11. Click on the "Manage Accounts" button under Profiles. This will bring up an account manager window.

12. Press the "Add Microsoft" button in the top right corner of the window.

13. Follow the instructions that appear in MultiMC. They should look like the image below. You can double click on the code and press Ctrl + C on your keyboard to copy it, then press Ctrl + V to paste into Microsoft's web browser window.

This step can feel sketchy to some people, but don't worry, MultiMC is a trustworthy open source program. It has to go through these steps because Microsoft has made a Microsoft account required to play Minecraft, and thus 3rd party launchers have to link to that account to allow you to use them.

14. Close the Manage Accounts window and press "Launch" on the right hand-side of your screen. As long as no errors come up (a separate console window will appear if they do), you're good to go!

If an error comes up relating to "Java", please go to the "HOW TO INSTALL JAVA" section of this page. If a separate error comes up, please take a screenshot and send it to a Conglomerate moderator or admin.

HOW TO INSTALL OPTIFINE

1. Go to ◀ OPTIFINE 1.17.1 (for SS3) or ◀ OPTIFINE 1.19 (for SS4) . This will download the appropriate Optifine release.

2. Press "Keep" if prompted that the downloaded JAR file may harm your computer. Computers say this for all files that can run on your computer. This file is safe.

3. Open your computer's downloads folder by searching "downloads" in your computer search bar.

4. Right-click on the Optifine file you just downloaded, then hover over "Open With" and click on Java(TM) Platform SE binary. IF YOU DO NOT SEE THIS OPTION, PLEASE GO TO THE "HOW TO INSTALL JAVA" SECTION OF THIS PAGE.

5. Then press the install button on the dialogue that pops up. You will have had to normally open the version of Minecraft you are attempting to install Optifine on once, otherwise the install will not continue correctly.

6. Optifine is now installed! You can now open the normal Minecraft launcher, and Optifine should appear in your profiles. The warning about the installation being modified is normal. Optifine is safe, and supports the latest safety features.

HOW TO INSTALL JAVA

1. Go to JAVA and open the EXE file that is installed.

2. If a prompt that says "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to this device?" comes up, select "Yes".

3. Follow the instructions on the Installation Wizard.

4. Java is now installed! You can now continue with the MultiMC install process from step 4, or the Optifine install process from step 5!
